At PAX East 2019, StreetPass Long Island teamed up once again with Switch & Play Boston to host another fun game show! This time the theme was Team Meowth vs Team Pikachu and it was a lot of fun!
Producing these game shows for Nintendo fans really makes us happy! We are proud to have such great fans of our game show who keep coming to show their support. We plan on hosting more game shows in the future so stay tuned for the next installment!
We know this isn’t on Long Island, but if you’re attending PAX East 2018 you will definitely want to check out the StreetPass Game Show!
If you have a Saturday Pass, be sure to line up at the Bobcat Theater at 8pm on 4/7 to be an audience member! (Some lucky audience members might even be picked to be a contestant!)
We polled the StreetPass community for the most popular answers to some funny gamer-themed questions. Can you guess the top answers??
After doing three iterations of the StreetPass Game Show so far, we need as many ideas as we can get for Survey Questions! Since you wonderful people on the internet are so creative, we thought we’d open up the suggestion box to the public!
Please keep in mind that the StreetPass Game Show is NOT A QUIZ SHOW! We do not want questions that are directly trivia. StreetPass Game Show uses the “Family Feud” format, and are primarily opinion questions (for example: “Why does Bowser REALLY keep kidnapping Princess Peach?”), or questions that could have several correct answers (for example: “Name a purple Pokemon”). You can submit as many questions as you like, however please note that not all questions will be used. If you need some inspiration, check out this recap from the PAX South Game Show!
Ideally we are looking for questions about the Nintendo Switch, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Pokemon and Retro Nintendo questions. If you have any ideas, please submit the form below! Thanks for your help!!
If you were at PAX East 2017, then chances are you might have heard about the StreetPass Game Show! On March 10th (yes – on MAR10 Day!!) we held our 3rd iteration of the StreetPass Game Show! The game show first debuted at Eternal Con, hosted by the SPLI crew in June 2016. Then members of the team took the game show on the road for PAX South 2017, and then off to Boston’s PAX East! We’re on a roll!
In case you aren’t familiar, the StreetPass Game Show is made BY the fans and FOR the fans! We surveyed the StreetPass community and got the top answers to wacky Nintendo-related questions (such as, “Which Smash Bros. character punches like your grandmother?”). Then we tabulate the results and organize a “Family Feud” format game show, where contestants guess the top answers! We even used 1-2 Switch’s “Quick Draw” mini-game as a buzzer each round. It was a blast!
The StreetPass Game Show is fun because it has the two phases (the survey and the actual game show) which allows a lot more people to participate! We plan to apply for future opportunities to present the StreetPass Game Show at events, so be sure to follow our Facebook Page and Facebook Group for the latest news.
Below, please enjoy some photos from the StreetPass Game Show! We had a strong Team Skull presence at this game show… don’t worry, they did not steal any of the prizes (or anyone’s Pokemon)!
Last Saturday, 6/11 was the debut of the StreetPass Game Show, hosted by SPLI at Eternal Con! We were so excited to try out the new ‘Family Feud’ format on the crowd, and there were a lot of laughs!
We started the day on Saturday by spreading the hype for the panel dressed up in cosplay! Super Mario fans were excited to see Mario, Wario and Princess Peach! We handed out flyers and got ready for the show…
Panel Room 1 was filled to capacity – with people standing in the back! – at 2pm when it was time for the game show to start! We brought in a custom game board (made by SPLI’s own “Mario Maker Mario” Sean S.) to show off the top answers to our Nintendo survey questions. Using a random number generator, we picked our contestants from the audience and pitted Mario against Wario in a New York City vs. Long Island contest! Princess Peach hosted the game show, and Mario Maker Mario was the game show judge.
The game was a close one at the beginning, with teams going win for win. But as the questions got tougher, Team Mario (NYC) was able to steal questions and points from Team Wario (LI) and take the lead. In the end, Team Mario won the speed round and the Grand Prize! We gave away three Amiibo figures and Nintendo accessories to the lucky winners.
SPLI wants to thank everyone who participated, from the StreetPass gamers who filled out our survey to the audience members who helped us pick the game categories, as well as the contestants and the SPLI team who brought the show together! The StreetPass Game Show was a big success and we plan to do this panel at future cons. Keep your eyes peeled for more info!
It’s finally here! This weekend is Eternal Con, the Long Island Comic Con! As always, SPLI will be in attendance and hosting a panel! This year we are debuting the StreetPass Game Show, which will be at the Cradle of Aviation at 2pm on Saturday, 6/11 in Panel Room 1!
Our game show features a Family Feud format, so we hope you’re ready to guess the most popular answers to questions about Nintendo games! We will be selecting some contestants from the audience, so be sure to line up early for a chance to be picked. There is a Grand Prize at stake, so bring your A-game!
Not only will we be picking contestants from the audience, but the audience will also be selecting some of the categories of the questions too. We can wait to see which topics you think will stump the contestants!
Have any questions about the panel? Please ask away on our StreetPass Game Show event page on Facebook, or comment below! See ya on Saturday!
SPLI is super excited to announce that we will be hosting the first ever StreetPass Game Show at Eternal Con 2016! The best part is that YOU can participate!!
How? There are two ways. They’re both easy! The first way is to get a ticket for Eternal Con, happening this June 10th – 12th! Some contestants will be randomly selected from the audience!
Want an even EASIER way? You can participate in the StreetPass Game Show Survey! Our game show is going to use the “Family Feud” format, so we need to survey the masses to find out the most popular answers to Nintendo-related questions! The survey will be open until early June.
